“Débora and I have shared a wonderful partnership and friendship for over two decades. We’ve shared family moments, our graduate studies, and the early stages of our careers. What motivates us to take this major step in our careers is our love for veterinary endocrinology. We hope that with Hormonalle, our life’s purpose will be realized.”
Dr. Priscila Viau
A little about us
“I’m someone who loves a challenge! That’s undoubtedly what drives me every day to embrace and introduce new ideas to the world of hormone testing. I’ve been on this journey of learning about analytical processes for 20 years now.”
Dr. Priscila Viau
She holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, as well as a master’s and a doctorate in Animal Reproduction from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ) at the University of São Paulo (USP). Her passion for Veterinary Endocrinology began in 2001, when she received her first research grant from FAPESP through the Technical Training Program. It was at that moment that she became fascinated by hormone testing and began her journey in this very special field.
In 2007, she had a life-changing opportunity: she was invited by a leading laboratory in São Paulo to introduce hormonal testing into routine veterinary practice, providing a crucial tool for diagnosing the most common endocrine disorders in dogs and cats. In 2010, she helped found the Brazilian Association of Veterinary Endocrinology (ABEV) and served as its scientific director from 2015 to 2018. Today, she has the honor of serving as president of ABEV for the 2022–2025 term.
In 2018, she embarked on an important new chapter in her professional career: becoming an entrepreneur. That year, she founded the first company in the Pesquisas Hormonais group. Then, in 2019, she created the registered trademark Hormone Lovers®, in partnership with her co-founder of Laboratório Hormonalle, focused on exclusive and limited-edition products. In 2022, Priscila and Débora fulfilled their dream of founding their own veterinary laboratory for hormone testing: Hormonalle.
““My greatest motivation for pursuing innovation and excellence in the laboratory is knowing that accurate results will translate into a better quality of life and well-being for the animals.”
Dr. Débora Cattaruzzi
She earned her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Universidade Paulista (UNIP) in 2000, followed by a Master’s and Doctorate in Animal Reproduction (Hormone Assay Laboratory – LDH) from FMVZ-USP, and has over 20 years of experience in Veterinary Endocrinology. Her expertise focuses on radioimmunoassay, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), chemiluminescence, and LC-MS/MS techniques for the measurement of steroid, thyroid, and glucocorticoid hormones in various biological matrices.
Over the course of 10 years, she has made significant contributions to the hormonal testing department at a leading reference laboratory in São Paulo. Since 2018, she has served as a scientific consultant for the Pesquisas Hormonais group, sharing her knowledge and passion for the field. She is also a founding partner of Laboratório Hormonalle and, in partnership with Dr. Priscila Viau, created the registered trademark Hormone Lovers®.
